Quality policies

In West Africa, both regional and national level, many initiatives have been developed in the field of quality infrastructure.

They have been supported by both local funding and donor support. To oversee the process, ECOWAS has felt the need to set the intervention framework for greater effectiveness of action and efficient management of gathered resources. As Seneca said, "There is no favorable wind for the one who does not know where he is going." Thus, following the adoption of its regional policy (ECOQUAL) on 28 February 2013 by the Conference of Heads of State and Government, the Commission set itself the objective of reducing or even eliminating disparities between countries in terms of National Quality Policies (NQP). The aim will be to provide all the countries in the region and Mauritania with National Quality Policy and, for those which already have them, to ensure that they are aligned with ECOQUAL. This vast project is being carried out with the support of the WAQSP which anticipates the implementation of these policies by supporting the States to develop action plans.
